Shoto isn't paying attention to anything for several minutes, just looking when he hears the phone. As it is when he reads that, it took more than a few minutes to come to that conclusion for Bakugo and he's not really wanting to put him in an uncomfortable situation. It'd be nice, but it's clear Bakugo doesn't know what to say or do-- not that anyone would. Not him, not anyone. No blame.
Shoto's turn to type and not type, only at least his comes a little sooner.

And he can heat the water himself, and that'll be enough company for the time being. He can gauge that and then neither of them are obligated because neither of them are any good at harder emotions. To be honest, the effort is appreciated in itself.
