Todoroki doesn't know what he needs either. Or does he? Because he's coming to settle close to Katsuki, and then thunks his head to the side onto the other man's shoulder. "I don't like being sad, so I won't be, soon. I promise."
This is definitely what he needed. Silence is fine if it isn't lonely. He's had enough of lonely silence his whole life. Or not-so-silent moments laced with violence and sadness. "When I'm not sad anymore, I'm going to find a way to find him."
He shifts so he can loop his arm around Todoroki loosely. He isn't huge on having people in his personal space like this. It's foreign and thus a little bit uncomfortable for him. But he keeps that arm looped and stays where he is.
He doesn't really know what Todoroki thinks he's going to do. But he gets the feeling behind it. He recently had to examine his own feelings and the times he's felt that need to be by Izuku's side. To tell him things that were rattling inside his head.
Even well before he worked out that he loved Izuku--in any sense of the word--he'd had moments he desperately needed to get to his side. Even just to apologize.
So he understands.
"Someone is bringing us here. Maybe through some kind of magic in this world. Not saying it'd be easy to figure out. But that says there's a possibility."
Shoto wasn't expecting the arm around him, but he appreciates it. There's nothing about it that feels anything more than just friendly and offering him the quiet comfort of human closeness. In another life maybe Izuku wouldn't have the chance to find out Katsuki's feelings, in another life maybe this wouldn't be friendly. But in this one, Shoto is so very, very thankful for this.
Talking shop is easier. "Someone is. There has to be something... Though." He sighs, looking up at the jewelry that Toge got him. "These--" A vague gesture to something on his desk, "--are supposed to track us wherever we were. It doesn't anymore. So whatever it is has to be more powerful than that." He doesn't even know where to begin on that. So the momentary silence ends with him saying: "Maybe I will join you to help with lunch after all." It's better than feverishly trying to think of this. "I'll show you I've gotten a lot better."
Friendly and learned from being surrounded by touchy friends. Truthfully speaking Katsuki isn't the touchy sort at all. But neither Kirishima nor Kaminari think twice of tossing their arm around someone. Katsuki included.
So that's all it is and Shoto can thank those two that Katsuki's tolerance for physical touch has grown enough to allow this comfort.
Katsuki eyes the jewelry for a moment. "So nothing we get here goes back with us when we go." He can't see Toge taking it off of his own accord.
His gaze flickers back to Shoto.
"Sure." Maybe he'll make soba. It's that little extra thing he can do. He's pretty sure they have everything they need for it.
He will thank both of them in person here, or when they're home and he has to excuse himself to find his way back here to get back to Toge wherever he is.
Shoto is of the same thought process, that Toge wouldn't take that off. There's no way he would. They very much enjoyed knowing where each other was to surprise one another with their company. Or to drop in at random times or just to know the other person was there... "I don't know... all of Alucard's things seemed to disappear. It's what made me uncertain that Toge was gone at all."
Shoto n ods his head, even if it's on Katsuki's shoulder, stopping after. "We can go... Thank you for coming, Bakugo."
The thought is in his head that maybe he isn't gone. Maybe he's just been taken somewhere here in this world. But he doesn't voice it because that could be false hope and he doesn't want to offer that.
He instead waits for Todoroki to move so he can get up and collect the tea cups and the things he brought for said tea.
"...yeah. Any time."
Sincerity. He's ready to accept that they're friends now.
It's crossed his mind, but he's glad he doesn't have to hear it. The last thing he wants is to have to think it, but in the recesses of his mind he's hoping.
"The same to you." Shoto helps at least gather the stuff, "I'll be down to meet you in the kitchen about a half hour before lunch." He will be there, but only because he knows he can't stay feral in his room.
